Waking up at 4.30am to get the first train to London tomorrow morning. All packed already. My overnight bag is smaller than the enormous bag of books I’ve accumulated over the past few weeks, all of which I’m hoping to get signed. The main aim of the weekend is to get a photograph with Malorie Blackman and to somehow fit a visit to Charing Cross Road in around the hectic YALC schedule. Also, obviously, to get lots of autographs. And to bump into at least one celebrity who isn’t book-related. I totally want to meet Lena Headley but I probably won’t get chance to. Oh well. I’ll still be in the same room as her and a bunch of other Game of Thrones actors/actresses and that is all that matters to me.
As a sidenote, I’ve packed the sensible option of leggings and my Clarks work shoes to wear on both days, to avoid serious chafing and/or blisters. You know what it’s like.
